Technical cookies to keep the lights on — plus web push, only if you opt in.
Aethovante uses strictly necessary, technical cookies, and — only if you subscribe to notifications — the cookies and browser storage that our web push provider, OneSignal, needs to work. We don't run analytics, advertising, or social-media pixels, and we don't profile you for marketing. The small notice you saw is informational and goes away once you dismiss it.
What we actually store
- Cookie-notice preference — a single value saved in your browser's local storage so the notice doesn't reappear every visit. It stays on your device and is never sent to us.
- Session / security cookies — our hosting provider may set a short-lived technical cookie to serve pages securely and balance load. These carry no marketing purpose and expire quickly.
- OneSignal web push (opt-in only) — if you subscribe to notifications, OneSignal sets cookies and uses browser storage and a service worker to remember your subscription and deliver push messages. These are only created after you tick the subscribe checkbox and accept the browser prompt. If you never subscribe, they're never set.
What we don't do
- No Google Analytics or any analytics tool.
- No advertising or retargeting cookies.
- No Facebook/Meta, TikTok, or other social pixels.
- No cross-site tracking or marketing profiling.
Web push notifications (OneSignal)
Our web push notifications are delivered by OneSignal, Inc. Subscribing is a double opt-in: you tick the subscribe checkbox and accept your browser's notification prompt — meaningful, express consent under CASL, PIPEDA, and Québec's Law 25. You can unsubscribe at any time by turning notifications off in your browser or device settings, or by emailing us. Your push token and, if provided, email may be processed by OneSignal on servers in the United States. See the Privacy Policy and OneSignal's privacy policy for more.
Managing cookies
The technical items are strictly necessary or stored locally, so there's nothing to opt out of there. OneSignal's cookies exist only if you subscribed, and unsubscribing removes them. You can also delete site data and cookies for aethovante.com from your browser settings at any time — the site will keep working, and you'll simply see the notice again on your next visit.
If this ever changes
If we were to add analytics or anything that profiles you for marketing, we would first turn on a proper opt-in consent banner (as Québec's Law 25 requires), name the third parties involved, and rewrite this page. As of 7 July 2026, the only optional processor is OneSignal, described above.
